Why preview a post before publishing?

On X, formatting mistakes are public and permanent — edits are Premium-only and the first 30 minutes decide most of a post's reach. A preview catches the problems a composer box hides: a line break that lands mid-word, a hook that gets buried below the fold, an image whose key detail is cropped by the timeline's aspect ratio, or a screenshot with a blinding white background for every dark-mode reader. This tool renders your draft as a faithful X post card in both light and dark mode, with your name, handle, avatar initials, and an optional image — plus a live weighted character count so you know it actually fits in 280.

Tips for a post that looks as good as it reads: keep the first line under ~50 characters so the hook survives every screen width; use line breaks to create visual rhythm — one idea per line outperforms dense paragraphs; check both modes whenever your image has text or a solid background; and remember mentions, hashtags, and links render in blue, which draws the eye — place them deliberately. Everything here runs locally in your browser; drafts and images are never uploaded.

Is my draft or image uploaded anywhere?

No. The preview is rendered entirely in your browser — the text never leaves the page, and the image is displayed via a local object URL that is discarded when you leave.

Why preview in both light and dark mode?

Around half of X users browse in dark mode. Screenshots, memes, and images with white backgrounds can look harsh or clash in one mode — previewing both catches it before you post.

Does the preview count characters like X does?

Yes — the counter uses weighted counting: URLs cost 23 characters (t.co), most emoji and CJK characters cost 2, everything else costs 1.
